Call it something of a pitching reset for the Milwaukee Brewers.
In advance of their series opener against the Arizona Diamondbacks at American Family Field on Monday, Aug. 25, the Brewers placed right-hander Grant Anderson on the 15-day injured list with right ankle tendinitis and recalled right-hander Easton McGee from Class AAA Nashville, moves directly affecting the bullpen.

Additionally, right-hander Chad Patrick was optioned to Nashville with right-hander Tobias Myers recalled from there.
“There’s a lot of moving parts right now,” acknowledged manager Pat Murphy. “We’re banged up in every area.”

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Grant Anderson walks back to the mound after walking in a run during the seventh inning of their game against the Kansas City Royals Monday, March 31, 2025 at American Family Field in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Anderson has been one of Milwaukee’s most-used relievers, with his 57 appearances ranking third on the team. He last pitched on Aug. 23 and allowed three unearned runs over an inning in a 7-1 loss to the San Francisco Giants.
McGee, meanwhile, is in his fifth stint with the team and first since being optioned out on Aug. 7. He’s posted a 7.36 ERA in seven appearances for the Brewers.

Patrick is coming off a two-start run capped by a strong 5 â…“-inning, two-run, seven-strikeout effort in Milwaukee’s 4-3 loss to San Francisco on Aug. 25 – something of a pressure-packed assignment considering the Brewers held a celebration of life for Bob Uecker before the game in front of a sellout crowd.

“Yesterday was really good,” Murphy said of Patrick, who was a godsend for Milwaukee’s injury ravaged rotation early in the season. He’s 3-8 with a 3.60 ERA, WHIP of 1.30 and 106 strikeouts in 105 innings over 21 appearances (20 starts).
“That was the Chad Patrick we saw in the beginning (of the year).”

Like McGee, Myers is also in his fifth stint in the majors this season. He is 1-1 with a 3.90 ERA and WHIP of 1.49 in 12 appearances (six starts) for the Brewers.
