CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – Corey Kluber is starting a new chapter that has brought him back to Cleveland.
The Guardians announced the hiring of Kluber in the role of Special Assistant, Pitching.
Kluber retired after the 2023 season, and returns to the organization in his new role after a dominant career on the mound. While in Cleveland, Kluber posted a 98-58 overall record with 1,461 strikeouts over 1,341.2 innings across 9 seasons with the club.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner and three-time All Star posted 18-or-more wins in 4 separate seasons (2014, 2016-18), including a 20-win season in 2018.
Kluber’s .628 win percentage is second-highest in club history (min. 1000IP), while his 1,461 strikeouts rank third.
