Florida baseball, currently ranked No. 13 in RPI, aims to host an NCAA regional.Various publications project Florida as a No. 2 seed in different regionals.Florida boasts a strong resume with wins over several top-ranked teams.

A few weeks ago, Florida baseball was fighting to earn a bid for the NCAA Tournament.

But after taking two of three games from then No. 1 Texas from May 9-11, the Florida Gators (35-18, 13-14 SEC) now have loftier goals.

There’s a path in which Florida can land one of the top 16 seeds in the NCAA Tournament and host a regional. First, Florida must take at least two of three games in its final SEC series at home against No. 16 Alabama (39-13, 15-12 SEC). Then, the Gators need to make a deep run in the SEC Tournament and pick up more Quad 1 victories.

Florida last hosted a regional in 2023, when the Wyatt Langford/Jac Caglianone-led Gators earned the No. 2 national seed in the NCAA Tournament. UF breezed through the regionals and super regionals before falling to LSU in the finals of the College World Series.

The Gators have won 15 of their last 19 and five straight SEC series. UF’s résumé includes series wins over No. 2 Florida State, No. 3 Texas, No. 5 Arkansas and Miami.

What is the Florida baseball RPI?

Per Warren Nolan Baseball, the Florida baseball RPI sits at No. 13 after taking two of three from Texas over the weekend. Florida has played the No. 4 strength of schedule in the country. UF’s record is 9-15 against Quad 1 opponents, 6-2 against Quad 2 opponents, 3-1 against Quad 3 opponents and 17-0 against Quad 4 opponents.
