Pacific League Lotte 1-3 Softbank (29th, Zozo Marine)
Softbank outfielder Kensuke Kondo complained of discomfort in his left side and was replaced during the fourth defense. With two outs and a runner on first in the third inning, he hit his eighth home run, a two-run shot over the right field fence. He said it was a satisfying hit, “It’s been a while since I’ve been satisfied with my hit,” but he said he had felt something was wrong since his turn at bat when he grounded out to the pitcher with two outs in the first inning. After the game, he explained, “I felt something was wrong. Well, it wasn’t that bad. I just wanted to be careful.” Looking back on Home Run in that situation, he said, “I think it was good that I was able to relax.”
