Stan Son dives into Saturday’s nine-game MLB early slate on DraftKings to find undervalued players to put in your DFS lineups.

There are nine MLB games on the slate for Saturday, with the first starting at 7:10 p.m. EST. Here are three value picks for the slate. This article is written before the actual lineups come out, so keep track of updates throughout the day.

SP Spencer Arrighetti, Houston Astros vs. Los Angeles Angels, $6,200

Arrighetti made two starts at the beginning of the season before suffering a thumb injury. He finally returned on Aug. 6 and has made four starts, but they have not been particularly good starts. The ERA of 6.52 is pretty much supported by the 6.12 FIP. He’s walked 10 batters in 19.1 innings and given up four home runs.

Three of those starts were on the road, though. In the one home start, he did issue five walks but only allowed two earned runs on one hit in five innings.

Now he gets to face an Angels team that strikes out at the highest rate against right-handed pitching while posting the 24th-best wOBA. Los Angeles has power, though, as it is 10th in ISO, and Arrighetti has been prone to the long ball. He’s put up fewer than 10 FPTS in every start since the opener. That said, he’s cheap and there is some upside. In that opening game, he notched 23.7 FPTS.

DraftKings Sportsbook has Houston at -169 on the moneyline.

OF Joc Pederson, Texas Rangers at Athletics, $2,700

Saturday’s starter for the Athletics is TBD, so these next two recommendations could be kaput. The Athletics did bring up Mason Barnett from Triple-A on Tuesday and there’s a chance he gets the starting nod. If so, I’d like to stack against him, especially in Sutter Health Park.

Barnett is 24 years old, 6-foot, 218 pounds and throws from the right side. In 119 Triple-A innings, Barnett posted a 9.38 K/9 and 4.92 BB/9.

Pederson has struggled this season, slashing only .172/.267/.317 with a .145 ISO against right-handed pitching. He’s historically been good against righties, though. He’s also hit three home runs in the last six games and put up double-digit FPTS in four of those contests, with a high of 29 FPTS.

1B Rowdy Tellez, Texas Rangers at Athletics, $3,100

While Pederson usually bats cleanup against right-handed pitching, Tellez has been down in the order. All 15 home runs have come against righties and the ISO is a robust .242. This could be a Welcome-to-the-Majors moment for Barnett and the welcoming crew could be Pederson and Tellez.

Tellez hit home runs in both of the games in the two-game series with Cleveland earlier in the week.
