LOS ANGELES (WICS) — Glenwood High School alum and former 10th overall pick, Reid Detmers, will open the 2025 season in the bullpen for the Los Angeles Angels.
According to Sam Blum of The Athletic, Detmers will be in a multi-inning role.
In Spring Training Detmers pitched 19.1 innings, with 17 strikeouts, three starts, a 2-1 record, and an ERA of 2.79.
Last season, Detmers ERA was 6.70 over 17 starts, allowed nearly two home runs per nine innings, and was optioned to Triple-A in the middle of the season.
Detmers has two options remaining, meaning he can still get sent down to the minor leagues.
For his career, Detmers’ ERA is 4.90 in 75 starts.
