Willits began his pro career last Thursday with the Single-A Fredericksburg Nationals, going 3-for-4 against the Fayetteville Woodpeckers in an eventual 10-6 win.

He’s continued that success through his first seven games with the FredNats, carrying a seven-game hitting streak into the weekend.

His OPS sat over 1.000 while at home and has since dipped under .900, currently at .872, but his .391 average and .481 on-base percentage have stood out amongst the rest, not to mention three walks and three strikeouts through his first 27 plate appearances.

Willits was tagged out trying to stretch a single into a double, but it will go down in history as his first professional hit.
