Top Pitching Performance of the Week

Freddy Peralta continues to mow down hitters, as he worked another strong six innings with no runs allowed, giving up one hit and one walk with a hit batter with eight strikeouts. All but guaranteed to now win NL Pitcher of the Month, Peralta’s August went like this: 4-0, 0.32 ERA (one earned run), 28 innings, 34 strikeouts. For the season, Peralta has a 2.58 ERA and 168 strikeouts over 153 2/3 innings, as he’s vying for a third consecutive season with 200 strikeouts.

Top Hitting Performance of the Week

William Contreras remained hot this week, with 10 hits, including three homers and two doubles, driving in six runs with a .323/.344/.677 line. Not to be outdone, utilityman Andruw Monasterio also had 10 hits, slugging a pair of homers and three doubles as he hit .400/.423/.760. Brice Turang and Caleb Durbin each had nine hits on the week, and Christian Yelich added eight hits. Overall, it was a fairly solid week for Milwaukee offensively.
