Shohei Ohtani reached a milestone on Tuesday night, hitting his 100th home run with the Los Angeles Dodgers.Â
Despite Ohtani’s historic swing, the Los Angeles Dodgers could not hold on to their lead. They stumbled late to fall 9-7 against the Pittsburgh Pirates at Dodger Stadium.
Ohtani’s milestone home run was the highlight of the game that caused the Dodgers to get an early lead, but the Pirates had a steady pace and scored crucial runs late in the game and eventually overtaking the Dodgers to take the win.
In the final innings of the game, the Pirates came back strong and the Dodgers couldn’t keep up.
This loss highlights the ongoing challenges the Dodgers face in maintaining consistency in their lineup and pitching. Even so, Ontani’s performance on Tuesday serves as a reminder of his rare two-way talent – excelling both as a hitter and as a pitcher.Â
While the team didn’t get a win, Ohtani’s 100th home run adds another milestone in his already remarkable Dodgers career.
