SALT LAKE CITY – With a new stadium in its not-too-distant future, big things are happening with the University of Utah baseball program. Maintaining momentum is a key focus as the Utes host the two-time National Champion Vanderbilt Commodores in an early-October exhibition.
The Commodores and Utes will meet at The Ballpark in Daybreak, Utah, home of the Salt Lake Bees. The Bees are the Triple-A affiliate for the Los Angeles Angels.

Vanderbilt finished 43-18 in 2025, earning the No. 1 overall seed in the NCAA tournament. The Commodores were upset by Wright State in the Nashville Regional.
Admission to the game will be free.
About Vanderbilt Commodore baseball
The Commodores have been the class of college baseball since the turn of the century.
After making three NCAA tournament appearances in the 20th century, Vanderbilt has reached the postseason tournament in 20 of the past 21 seasons (2005), and enters 2026 on a streak of 19 straight NCAA tournament appearances, the longest in the nation.
The Commodores have appeared in the College World Series five times since 2011.

Head coach Tim Corbin enters his 23rd season leading the program. He is the winningest coach in program history, compiling a 964-461-1 (.676) record at the school.
Corbin is a three-time SEC Coach of the Year (2007, 2013, 2019) and two-time National Coach of the Year (2014, 2019).
Seven Vanderbilt players were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft, including three in the first three rounds. The Commodores were also the most represented college with 11 former players making MLB 2025 Opening Day rosters.
Multiple Vanderbilt athletes have been selected in every MLB draft since 2004. 21 of Corbin’s players have been selected in the first round of the MLB draft.
Two Commodores, Dansby Swanson and David Price, have been the No. 1 overall pick in the MLB draft.
