Sean Barnard gives his top DraftKings MLB Pick6 plays and projections for today’s MLB slate.
There are 11 games of action taking place across today’s MLB slate. With less than 20 games remaining in the regular season, the playoff push is in full swing, with some divisional and Wild Card races worth noting. Things will continue to play themselves out on the diamond today with a few high-profile series opening up. There are plenty of ways of getting involved in the action. One of the more unique ways is with one of the newest features on DraftKings this year in Pick6 Fantasy Baseball!
This article will look at my top Pick6 plays for today’s action. You simply choose whether each set statistic will be more or less than the set number. With the stage set, here are my favorite picks on today’s MLB slate.
Vinnie Pasquantino More Than 1.5 Hits, Runs, & RBIs
The Kansas City Royals will open up a series against the Cleveland Guardians with Vinnie Pasquantino in strong form. On the season overall, he is slashing .262/.323/.470 with 29 home runs and 99 RBIs. The left-hander has been ripping the ball lately and posting an average exit velocity of 94 miles per hour over his past five games against right-handed pitching. This is three miles per hour above his average, and he has had four 100+ mph hits in his last 15 at-bats. Pasquantino has hit right-handed pitching well this season with a .280 batting average, a 44.3% hard-hit rate, and a team-high .507 slugging percentage.
Slade Cecconi will be getting the start for the Guardians and has had his struggles this year. Across his 19 starts, he is posting a 4.78 ERA with 22 home runs allowed. Lefties are posting a .490 slugging percentage against him with a wild 54.8% hard-hit rate. Cecconi also posted a 6.66 ERA across his 20 appearances last year. Pasquantino has yet to face him in his career, but the Royals standout has seven hits across his past four games and has tallied more than 1.5 combined hits, runs, and RBIs in each. Look for him to extend this streak in this favorable pitching matchup tonight.

Juan Soto More Than 0.5 Home Runs
The New York Mets travel to Philadelphia to face the Phillies and trail seven games in the NL East standings. New York will need to play with some desperation and produce a series sweep to have a chance at the division, but they need as many wins as they can get in the Wild Card race regardless. Tonight marks a great chance with Aaron Nola on the mound for the Phillies. While Nola has been a rock-solid starter for the bulk of his career, this has not been the case this year. On the season overall, Nola is posting a 6.78 ERA. He missed about three months with an ankle and rib injury, but time on the IL did not fix his struggles. In Nola’s first four starts since returning, he is posting an 8.38 ERA with six earned runs allowed in two of these starts.
Home runs have been Nola’s largest problem. He is allowing 1.96 home runs per nine innings this season and 2.76 against left-handed hitters. Juan Soto has some of the best numbers against right-handed pitching on the Mets with a .576 slugging percentage, a 21.6% barrel percentage, and ridiculous 60.2% hard-hit rate. Soto has 29 home runs against right-handed pitching this season, including four home runs across his last 10 games against righties. Soto has three home runs across 38 at-bats against Nola in their careers. New York paid Soto a massive contract for matchups like this, so look for him to put one over the fence against their division rivals.

Julio Rodriguez More Than 0.5 Runs Batted In
The Seattle Mariners open up a series against the St. Louis Cardinals tonight, with Julio Rodriguez continuing to be one of the hottest hitters in all of baseball. He has five home runs across his past seven games and has cracked 30 home runs on the season. Over the last 14 days, he is slashing .347/.373/.694.
Tonight is a great chance to build off this with Miles Mikolas on the mound for the Cardinals. It has been a tough season for the 36-year-old, who is posting a 4.89 ERA with 24 home runs allowed across 27 starts. He is allowing a .458 slugging percentage and 40% hard-hit rate against right-handed hitters this year. Mikolas is also dependent on his slider and four-seamer for attacking hitters, and 11 of Rodriguez’s home runs have come against those pitches this year.
Whether it is putting one over the fence himself or driving in a teammate, I like Rodriguez’s chances of adding to his 89 RBIs on the season. He has a .460 slugging percentage and 45.8% hard-hit rate against right-handed pitchers this year and has had success in far more difficult pitching matchups. Don’t be shocked if Seattle can put some crooked numbers on the board and for Rodríguez to be at the heart of it.

Cal Raleigh More Than 1.5 Total Bases
Cal Ralegh leads he entire MLB with 53 home runs on the year while adding 113 total RBIs. He is slashing .243/.351/.581 with a .931 OPS on the season. Big Dumper is showing no signs of slowing down and is batting .286 across his past six games and has hit a home run in back-to-back games entering tonight.
He will also get the benefit of facking Mikolas. Raleigh has two hits in five at-bats against Mikolas in his career, and it is worth noting that 33 of his home runs have come against right-handers this season. While another home run is absolutely in play, I am opting to play it a bit safer and backing Raleigh to record more than 1.5 total bases today. He has accomplished this in four of his past six games and in 62 games this season overall. Raleigh is one of the best hitters in baseball and has a favorable pitching matchup tonight. Let’s not overthink it, so back the Mariners star to record more than 1.5 total bases tonight.

Freddie Freeman More Than 1.5 Total Bases
In the final matchup of today’s MLB slate, the Los Angeles Dodgers host the Colorado Rockies. Chase Dollander will get the start for Colorado and has had a disastrous 2025 season. The 23-year-old is posting a 6.77 ERA with 18 home runs allowed across his 20 starts and 93.0 innings pitched.
Freddie Freeman continues to produce in his age-35 season. The nine-time All-Star is slashing .295/.369/.496. Freeman has 19 home runs, 77 RBIs, and leads the National League with 36 doubles. He has faced Dollander six times in their careers with a pair of hits that includes a home run. Freeman is hitting .295 against right-handed pitchers this season, with 13 of his home runs tallied in the split.
Dollander has struggled to get outs all season and will face a tough Dodgers lineup tonight. Freeman has tallied more than 1.5 total bases in seven of his last 12 games, including against much more difficult pitching matchups. Count on Freeman building off this success and recording more than 1.5 total bases tonight.

Shohei Ohtani More Than 0.5 Home Runs
Also sure to be licking his chops at the pitching matchup in this game is Shohei Ohtani. He has faced Chase Dollander just three times in their careers, with a single and a walk tallied. It should also be noted that even if Dollander is chased from the outing early, the outlook does not improve much for Colorado. The Rockies’ bullpen is posting a collective 5.27 ERA with 89 home runs allowed on the season.
Shohei Ohtani enters with 48 home runs and 90 RBIs on the season while slashing .279/.389/.612 with a NL-best 1.001 OPS. 36 of his home runs have come against right-handed pitching this season, with Ohtani slashing .277/.410/.653 with a 1.063 OPS in these matchups. He is coming off a two-homer performance yesterday and will look to carry this momentum into a more favorable pitching matchup. The biggest concern would be the Rockies pitching around and avoiding Ohtani. But if he gets a pitch to hit, he will surely punish the inferior opponent, and I am backing Ohtani to tally his 49th home run of the season tonight.
