LSU baseball had a successful weekend on the recruiting trail. The Tigers secured three commitments from right-handed pitchers.
Head coach Jay Johnson made great use of football’s home opener weekend, giving recruits the true Baton Rouge experience. He made multiple posts on social media to signal additions to the roster.
One of those additions was Hayden Morris, and he will make the most immediate impact as he transfers in from Blinn Junior College. Per the team’s website, he stands at six-foot-eight and 265 pounds.
As a freshman in 2025, Morris made 19 appearances, including 14 starts. Through 86.1 innings, the right-hander posted a 4.17 ERA and 106 strikeouts. He set career highs with eight innings and 12 strikeouts in his first season of college baseball.
Morris hails from Conroe, TX. He possesses the physical tools needed to succeed a the highest level but was hit hard on multiple occasions at the JUCO level, giving up four or more runs seven times.
