(ST. JOSEPH, MO) – St. Joseph native Noah Cameron lost his seventh game of the season pitching for the Kansas City Royals on Tuesday night. Kansas City fell to the Cleveland Guardians 2-0 on the road.

Cameron showed brilliance at times, striking out eight batters in seven innings pitched. But Cameron made two mistakes in the ball game that hurt the Royals. Cameron gave up a solo home run to Jose Ramirez in the first inning and an RBI double to David Fry in the fourth inning.

The Royals couldn’t find run support to help Cameron, collecting only five hits on the night. KC did have two on base in the ninth inning but Salvador Perez struck out to end the game.

Cameron’s final stats were seven innings pitched, eight strikeouts, six hits and two runs given up. He now has a 7-7 record on the mound and a 3.00 ERA on the season. His next scheduled start will be on Sunday, September 14th at the Philadelphia Phillies.

The Royals drop to 73-72 and are now 3.5 games back of the Seattle Mariners in the American League Wildcard race. Â
