The Seattle Mariners have set their seven players who will play in the Arizona Fall League this year.
Mariners within one game of AL West lead after win, Astros collapse
Headlining the list is outfielder Jonny Farmelo, who plays for the High-A Everett AquaSox. He is ranked the No. 79 overall prospect in baseball per MLB.com, which is seventh among the nine Mariners prospects ranked in the top 100.

Just one other Mariners position player is headed to the AFL: Brock Rodden, an infielder with the Double-A Arkansas Travelers who is the Mariners’ No. 22 prospect per MLB.
Five pitchers make up the bulk of M’s players headed to Arizona:
• RHP Marcelo Perez (Double-A, No. 18 M’s prospect)
• RHP Tyler Cleveland (Double-A, No. 30 M’s prospect)
• RHP Christian Little (High-A)
• RHP Brock Moore (High-A)
• RHP Stefan Raeth (Double-A)
Raeth is a UW Huskies product who the Mariners selected in the 17th round of the 2022 MLB Draft.
Both Farmelo and Rodden will get a chance to play extra games in Arizona after injuries shortened their seasons.
Farmelo, 21, suffered a torn right ACL in June 2024, which kept him out of action until April 29 of this year. He also missed over a month this year with a stress fracture in his ribs. Farmelo, who was picked No. 29 overall by the Mariners in the 2023 draft, has a .230/.318/.460 slash line for a .778 OPS with six home runs and two stolen bases in 29 games for the AquaSox this year.
Rodden, 25, broke the hamate bone in his wrist on a swing in August, ending his season in Double-A.
Rodden had a .295/.356/.466 slash line with five home runs and 14 stolen bases in 37 games for Arkansas.
The Mariners players will join the Peoria Javelinas in the AFL, where their teammates will be prospects from the Baltimore Orioles, Cincinnati Reds, Minnesota Twins and San Diego Padres. The Javelinas play their home games at the Peoria Sports Complex, which is where the Mariners and Padres hold spring training.
The Javelinas will begin play on Monday, Oct. 6.
Mariners pitching coordinator Quinn Cleary will serve as the Javelinas’ pitching coach.
What is the Arizona Fall League?
Each MLB team sends seven prospects to the AFL, which plays a regular season from October to mid-November and ends with two days of playoffs. There is also an annual Home Run Derby and “Fall Stars” game towards the end of the regular season.
The AFL is essentially a showcase league for baseball’s premier prospects. Per the official Arizona Fall League website: “Forty-one percent of all players named to the 2025 MLB All Star Game in Atlanta are AFL alums (33 of 80). Ten out of 20 players in the starting lineups for that game (starting pitchers and DH included) once played in the Arizona Fall League.”
