Former Texas A&M pitcher Brad Rudis has another accolade added to his résumé after his first season in the MLB Draft League. He is dripping with talent, and if he can continue to show his versatility in the rotation, it will be hard for a major club not to pick him up in the near future.
On Thursday morning, the MLB Draft League announced its 2025 All-Second Half Team, comprising 24 standout players. Among those was Rudis, who was named Pitcher of the Week in early August and was awarded the Rankin Johnson Pitcher of the Year award for the Williamsport Crosscutters organization.
Below is the excerpt from the league on Rudis:
“Rudis was predominantly a reliever for the Cutters in the first half and became the league’s strikeout leader in the second half as a starter. The former Texas A&M Aggie broke the Crosscutters strikeout record with 69 between the first and second half. Rudis made nine second half starts, working 46 innings (tied-second) and struck out 55. His 3.13 ERA was good for fifth in the second half and he also carried a 1.22 WHIP.”
Making it to the big show is no easy task, and the first step is to secure a spot in a team’s farm system. While Rudis has not received that call yet, all the signs indicate he should keep his phone close.
