CLEVELAND, Ohio — This is a preview of the Guardians’ three-game series against the Reds that starts Friday.

Where: Great American Ballpark, Friday through Sunday.

Pitchers and start times: RHP Tanner Bibee (3-3, 3.80) vs. RHP Brady Singer (4-2, 4.97) on Frday at 6:40 p.m.; TBD vs. RHP Chase Petty (0-2, 21.94) on Saturday at 6:40 p.m.; TBD (3-2, 4.38) vs. LHP Andrew Abbott (2-0, 2.10) on Sunday at 1:40 p.m.

Series: The Guardians went 3-1 against the Reds last year. Cleveland leads 76-59 overall.

Reds update (20-23): Singer is 2-3 with a 4.48 ERA when facing Cleveland, mostly as a member of the Kansas City Royals. But he is winless in his last nine appearances against the Guardians. Abbott made two starts against the Guards in 2023 and went 1-1 with a 6.14 ERA and six strikeouts while allowing a home run. Elly De La Cruz torched Cleveland pitchers in spring training with a pair of home runs. In eight regular season matchups against Cleveland, De La Cruz has two home runs, four RBI, three steals and a .714 OPS. Former Guardians manager Terry Francona is 35-25 against Cleveland in 60 regular season meetings and 4-3 in seven postseason matchups.

Guardians update (25-17): Bibee is 1-1 with a 3.65 ERA in two career starts against the Reds. He allowed four runs but struck out 11 in his only start at Great American, pitching into the sixth inning in June. José Ramírez has 12 career home runs and 41 RBI against the Reds, more than any other national league team he has faced. Five of Ramírez’s home runs against the Reds have come at Great American Ballpark. Carlos Santana also has 12 home runs against Cincinnati, but is batting just .204 in his career in 31 road games when facing the Reds. Emmanuel Clase has saved five Cleveland wins when facing the Reds.

Guardians: RHP Ben Lively (right flexor tendon strain), CF Lane Thomas (right wrist), RHP Paul Sewald (right shoulder), RRHP Shane Bieber (right elbow), RHP Trevor Stephen (right elbow), LHP John Means (left elbow), UT David Fry (right elbow), RHP Slade Cecconi (left oblique), LHP Sam Hentges (left shoulder) and LHP Erik Sabrowski (left elbow) are on the injured list.
