Bryan Armetta shares his two favorite MLB bets today on DraftKings Sportsbook for Saturday’s 15-game slate.
It’s Saturday, and you know what that means: 15 MLB games between all 30 teams! On this jam-packed weekend slate, bettors are spoiled for choice with quality matchups. That includes another chapter in the historic Yankees-Red Sox rivalry at Fenway Park. Elsewhere, the red-hot Rangers will attempt to take down a struggling Mets squad. Later, the Dodgers and Giants meet for a high-stakes NL West clash.
Before the start of Saturday’s contests, here are two MLB bets to consider on DraftKings Sportsbook.
Despite entering the night as underdogs, the Rangers powered their way to an 8-3 victory on Friday. This afternoon, Texas will attempt to earn another upset at Citi Field. Much like yesterday, it’ll be a rookie pitcher on the mound for New York. Brandon Sproat looked solid during his first career start, tossing six innings of three-run ball vs. the Reds. Still, it’s difficult to trust an unproven arm in the middle of a pennant chase. In addition, the Rangers own a .741 OPS against right-handers since August 1st. That’s the tenth-best mark in baseball during that time.
For the visitors, veteran Patrick Corbin will get the nod. The two-time All-Star has enjoyed a mini-renaissance, emerging as a valued member of Texas’ rotation. Through 142.1 innings of work, the 35-year-old owns a 4.36 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 119 strikeouts. Those aren’t terrific numbers, but it’s not as if this is the most brutal matchup. New York has scored just 25 runs over its last nine games. The Mets also struggle against southpaws; their .696 OPS vs. lefties is 14th-worst in baseball. Given how these two clubs have performed in recent weeks, I’ll gladly ride with the hot hand.
Despite missing out on the postseason, the second half has had a few positives for Atlanta. That includes the recent play of starting pitcher Bryce Elder. For most of 2025, the former All-Star was one of baseball’s worst hurlers. Unsurprisingly, his season-long numbers reflect this (5.35 ERA, 1.41 WHIP). However, the right-hander has turned things around over the past month. During his last six outings, Elder has notched a 3.32 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 39 strikeouts.
Offense has been at a premium for the Astros. The team is producing just 3.98 runs per game, the league’s seventh-lowest average. Houston’s chances at a win will likely hinge on starter Hunter Brown. The All-Star has been one of the American League’s top hurlers all season. Over 167.2 innings pitched, the righty has accounted for a 2.25 ERA, 1.01 WHIP and 190 strikeouts. In a world without Tarik SKubal and Garrett Crochet, those would be Cy Young-worthy statistics. Tonight’s opponents, the Braves, own baseball’s eighth-worst batting average against right-handed pitching (.241). Expect both of these starters to keep things in heck on Saturday.
