The Everett AquaSox are champions of the Northwest League.
The Seattle Mariners’ High-A affiliate put the finishing touches on in its run to its first title in more than a decade with a 6-3 victory over the Eugene Emeralds during Game 4 of the best-of-five league championship series Saturday at Funko Field in Everett.
Seattle Mariners’ playoff path widening as AL contender slips
The Northwest League championship is the AquaSox’s first since 2010. Seattle’s Triple-A, Double-A, High-A and Single-A affiliates have now all won at least one league title since 2021.
Luis Suisbel hit the go-ahead, two-run home run in the third inning put Everett up 4-3 in the deciding game. Charlie Pagliarini and Tai Peete added solo home runs.
Gabriel Sosa pitched a scoreless inning of relief in the fifth to earn the win. Lucas Kelly struck out the side in the ninth to earn the save.
AquaSox manager Zach Vincej, a former Mariner, has now won three straight league championships in the minors. Vincej managed the Mariners’ Single-Modesto affiliate to back-to-back California League titles in 2023 and 2024.
