One night getting hit by a pitch on his right hand and wrist area, Dodgers third baseman Max Muncy left Saturday’s game early as well, after getting hit by a pitch in the helmet in the sixth inning.
Afer the game, Muncy told reporters he passed concussion testing.
With left-hander Robbie Ray starting for San Francisco on Sunday, Muncy likely wouldn’t have started the series finale anyway, but considering the painful weekend so far that makes it an even easier decision.
“There’s just not enough improvement,” manager Dave Roberts told reporters Saturday in San Francisco, per Sonja Chen of MLB.com. “The hope is, when he’s eligible to come off, we can activate him. But just where he’s at, it makes the most sense.”
