The Tigers will be back in the Motor City next week after spending the last week on the East Coast.
After a disappointing homestand, in which Detroit dropped four of its six games at home, dropping series to the likes of the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox, the Tigers found some offensive life earlier in the week when they hammered the New York Yankees in back-to-back wins, becoming the first road team in Major League Baseball history to register 10 or more runs in consecutive games at either Yankee Stadium.
Before the Tigers return home, they have to finish up their three-game series against the Miami Marlins.
The Guardians are trying to chase down the Tigers in the race for first place in the American League Central, with Detroit sitting several games ahead of Cleveland.
The Tigers are 4-3 against the Guardians, sweeping Cleveland on the road in July.
