LSU received baseball commitments from a pair of potential future stars—left-handed pitcher Kade Luker and center fielder Jordan Griffin—both Louisiana products and members of the 2027 class.
Luker, a 6-2, 180-pound product of Cedar Creek High School in Ruston was a Class 1A All-State performer last spring with a 2.64 ERA and 83 strikeouts.
Ranked as the No. 2 player in the state for the 2027 class, Luker’s fastball touches 91 mph with a spin rate of 2,092, and he complements it with a changeup in the low 80s (1,828 spin rate), a three-quarter hard slider, and a curveball with slurve-like action (2,282 spin rate). He is considered the No. 59 overall prospect nationally.
Griffin, who plays both infield and outfield but projects as a center fielder, is a 5-8, 170-pound standout from Barbe High School in Lake Charles. An explosive athlete with quick-twitch ability and excellent range, he also possesses a strong arm.
Batting from the left side, he hits to the opposite field exceptionally well. With fast hands in the box, the ball jumps off his bat at 101 mph exit velocity. He is regarded as the top player from Louisiana in the 2027 class.
