José Quintana lands on injured list
The Brewers placed left-handed pitcher José Quintana on the 15-day injured list with a left calf strain prior to the game.
Quintana played catch on Sept. 16 and reported it went well and hoped that he could clear tests running and throwing on Sept. 17 in order to make his next start over the weekend in St. Louis. But the Brewers announced not long after that Quintana was going on the IL, retroactive to Sept. 15.
Nick Mears was activated off the injured list in his place.
