Pocola’s softball team earned its ninth straight win and 16th victory in the last 17 games as it won 7-2 at home against Roland on Wednesday.

“It just seems like we’re locked in on all phases of the game. We’re ready for the playoffs,” Pocola head coach Eddie Combs said.

Not long after announcing her commitment to play softball at the University of Tulsa, Kaydence Batt hit a home run in the third inning for a 2-0 lead.

After Roland tied it in the top of the fifth, Pocola (22-3) broke away with a two-run home run by Ashlyn Barnes in the bottom of the fifth.

Batt hit 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Kyleigh Combs threw 11 strikeouts in six innings.

Pocola enters playoff mode on Tuesday with its Class 2A regional at home, opening against Okemah, and then playing the Haskell-Vian winner.
