In the Phillies organization, Otto Kemp and Griff McGarry were named the 2025 Paul Owens’ award winners which are given annually to the top minor league player and pitcher.
McGarry had three starts in Clearwater, 17 in Reading and one in Lehigh Valley – recording 124 strikeouts to 49 walks and held opposing players to a .180 batting average.Â
Kemp batted .310 and slugged 16 home runs and drove in 67 runs with the IronPigs across 74 games before having his contract selected on June 7.
Reading manager Al Pedrique was selected as the 2025 John Vukovich award winner which is given annually to a member of the organization who embodies the characteristics of the late John Vukovich – loyalty, dedication, competitiveness, knowledge, honesty and strong work ethic.
