The follow-up to the most impressive and dramatic regular season series in the 21st century for the Seattle Mariners? An off day, followed by hosting one of the worst teams in MLB history at any time. The Colorado Rockies have spent the second half of the season or so being merely a traditionally quite bad team instead of their historic pace, and they’ve safely eluded the ignominy of setting a record for full-season futility. They’ve taken games off the Astros, Brewers, Cubs, Dodgers, Guardians, Padres, Reds, and Yankees this year (as well as other, non-playoff-bound clubs), so a sweep or series win is not fait accompli. However, it’ll be rare to see a series where Seattle matches up as strongly against an opponent, and with clinching possibilities abounding this week, it would be nice for the M’s to romp accordingly.

UPDATE: Tyler Freeman has back tightness, Kyle Farmer will be in his spot and hitting 8th. I am on my phone and look, you’ll see the lineup soon, sorry.
