After clinching their 13th consecutive playoff berth, the Los Angeles Dodgers are back in the postseason!

First, the Dodgers could clinch the NL West as early as Thursday. The Dodgers lead the San Diego Padres by 2 games after San Diego fell on Wednesday afternoon against the Brewers. The Dodgers own the head-to-head tiebreaker after winning nine of the 13 regular-season matchups against the Padres.
If the Dodgers win the NL West, they will likely secure the No. 3 seed in the National League, but could still go as high as the No. 2 seed. If they do end as the No. 3 seed, Chavez Ravine would host a best-of-three game Wild Card Series at Dodger Stadium starting on Tuesday, Sept. 30.

If the Dodgers win the NL West and finish with the third-best record among the division winners, they would host the No. 6 seed in the Wild Card Series. Currently, the No. 6 seed is the New York Mets, but they are just one game ahead of the Cincinnati Reds and Arizona Diamondbacks.
However, if the Padres win the division, the Dodgers would have to play in the Wild Card round with no guarantee they would host the series, given they enter Wednesday’s action tied with the Chicago Cubs at 88-69.

Each of the best-of-three Wild Card Series are set to begin on Sept. 5. If they end as the No. 3 seed or No. 4 seed, the Dodgers would host the best-of-three game series.

The National League Division Series is scheduled to begin as soon as Saturday, Oct. 4 and run through Saturday, Oct. 11. If the Dodgers’ win the Wild Card Series, the team would advance to the NLDS to face either the Philadelphia Phillies or Milwaukee Brewers. As the likely lower seeded team, the Dodgers would host Games 3 and 4 as long as the NLDS didn’t end in a sweep.

If the Dodgers advance to the National League Championship series, it would be a best-of-seven game series with the winner heading to the World Series. The higher seeded team would host Games 1, 2, 5 and 7, while the lower seeded team would host Games 3, 4 and 6, should the series require it.

Lastly, if the Dodgers make it to the World Series, the team with the higher regular-season record would get the homefield advantage, and host Games 1, 2, 5 and 7 while the team with fewer wins during the regular season would host Games 3, 4 and 6.
