NEW YORK – Yankees’ captain Aaron Judge slugged his 50th home run of the year and moved into another rare classification among all-time MLB sluggers.

For the fourth time in his career, Judge has reached 50 homers in a single season, tying the MLB record for the most by any player.

In Wednesday night’s second inning at Yankee Stadium, Judge drove a two-out, first-pitch 97-mph sinker by right-hander Jonathan Cannon over the right-center field wall.

Judge’s three-run homer gave the Yanks a 3-1 lead over the 99-loss Chicago White Sox.

That blast moved Judge into a tie with Babe Ruth, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire, who each had four seasons of at least 50 home runs.

Judge had previously reached the 50-homer mark in 2024 (58), 2022 (62), and 2017 (52).
