For the second night in a row the A’s beat the Houston Astros in convincing fashion, taking the second game of the series 6-0 and setting themselves up for the sweep opportunity tomorrow in the finale. Even better, the Astros’ loss coupled with Seattle’s win officially locked up the AL West for the Mariners and blocking off one postseason path for Houston, who now sit a game back of the third and final wild card spot.
