GREEN BAY (WLUK) — The Brewers achievements keep coming.

With the team’s 4-2 win over the Reds to end the regular season, Milwaukee collected win No. 97, which sets a new franchise record.

Appleton West alum Danny Jansen hit a go-ahead, two-run home run in the 4th inning to give the Brewers a 3-2 lead. Andrew Vaughn added an RBI double in the inning to give the Brewers that 4-2 lead.

Freddy Peralta pitched two innings, allowing three hits, one run, zero walks and striking out three batters.

All-Star closer Trevor Megill, who was activated off the injured list prior to today’s matchup, pitched an encouraging inning for the Crew while picking up the win.

The Brewers became the first team in the Majors to clinch a postseason berth on Sept. 13. Then on Saturday, the team learned they would be the No. 1 seed and have home-field advantage throughout the postseason when the Phillies lost to the Twins.

The Brewers begin the playoffs on Saturday, October 4 in the National League Division Series (NLDS). They will face the winner of the Padres-Cubs Wild Card series.
