Beginning earlier this weekend, anyone wearing Mariners gear will receive $5 off general admission at the front gates of Point Defiance Zoo & Aquarium and Northwest Trek Wildlife Park.
The promotion will run through the duration of the Mariners’ postseason campaign, giving fans a chance to combine team spirit with a day of animal-centric adventures, a release noted.
At Northwest Trek Wildlife Park, the park’s mascot, Footloose the Moose, will be standing behind the Mariners’ own Mortimer “Mariner” Moose. Visitors can also meet Calli and Luna, two rescued orphan moose who live on the park’s 435-acre Free-Roaming Area. (Just like the fans, they’re ready to root for the home team.) Over at PDZA, the big plays come from big cats: During Keeper Chats, tigers chase down meaty treats in ways that would make even a seasoned catcher proud.
“This is a fun, wild way for fans to celebrate the Mariners chasing October glory,” Alan Varsik, director of both zoos, said in the release. “We love seeing our community come together around the team and are excited to be a part of it.”
