Ahead of the 2026 college baseball signing period, astute followers of Mississippi State have noticed that their beloved Diamond Dawgs do not have any instate players committed for that class. Part of that is the fact that the instate talent pool is not exceptionally deep. There are only four players among the notable prospects for that class committed to programs of the Southeastern Conference. Mississippi State only actively pursued a pair of them.
The 2027 crop of Mississippi prospects is much deeper and more of those players are taking multiple visits to SEC schools. State has added two of the top rated recruits from the Magnolia State in recent weeks.
