ST. LOUIS, Mo–Hello everyone, I’m Dan Lucy on the Ozarks First digital desk.
There’s new person in charge of the St. Louis Cardinals and he’s not happy that the Redbirds are sitting on the sidelines as baseball’s playoffs start.
Chaim Bloom takes over at president of baseball operations.
In our Cardinal Nation update.
St. Louis Cardinals CEO Bill DeWitt junior introduced Bloom Tuesday at a news conference.
Bloom takes the reigns from John Mozeliak who stepped down Monday.
Mozeliak brought Bloom on board as an heir apparent.
And Bloom worked in player development while getting a feel for the Cardinals organization and it’s needs.
“We’re not where we want to be….we expect to contend for a world series championship,” said Bloom.
Two things Bloom said after his news conference.
The first, Oli Marmol will return as manager, he has one year left on his contract.
And he would like Nolan Arenado to remain as the Cardinals third baseman.
