Less than 48 hours before the Seattle Mariners will open the 2025 MLB playoffs, the key details are finally set.
Game 1 of the Mariners’ American League Division Series against the Detroit Tigers will have a first pitch of 5:38 p.m. Saturday at Seattle’s T-Mobile Park.
The ALDS is set: Seattle Mariners will face Detroit Tigers
The time of Game 1 was contingent on the result of the AL Wild Card Series between the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox, which the Yankees clinched with a Game 3 win Thursday night.
The Mariners found out their opponent in the ALDS just hours prior to the Yankees-Red Sox game, with the Tigers beating the Cleveland Guardians 6-3 in Game 3 of the other ALWCS earlier Thursday to move on.
The TV broadcast of the Mariners-Tigers opener will air on FS1.
Seattle will have to deal with some ‘Mariners killers’ in Tigers’ lineup
The radio broadcast of Saturday’s game will air on Seattle Sports beginning at 2:30 p.m. with two hours of extended pregame coverage, then the Mariners Radio Network pregame show at 4:30 p.m.
The Mariners are the No. 2 seed in the AL after going 90-72 to win the AL West, while the Tigers wemt 87-75 to earn the AL’s final wild card spot and No. 6 seed.
