X-factors for Yankees, Blue Jays, Mariners and Tigers as ALDS matchups are set

The American League Division Series matchups are set and start times have been announced for the first two games in the respective series.

The New York Yankees will travel to take on the Toronto Blue Jays on Saturday, Oct. 4. 

The Blue Jays are the AL’s top seed after finishing with a 94-68 record during the regular season, earning a first-round bye. The Yankees finished with the same overall record as their AL East counterpart but were forced to play in the Wild Card round after falling short in the head-to-head tiebreaker with Toronto.

The Yankees won Game 3 of the Wild Card series against the Boston Red Sox on Thursday, Oct. 2.

The Seattle Mariners will host the Detroit Tigers on Saturday, as well. Seattle was the second overall seed in the AL with a 90-72 record.

The Tigers earned a spot in the ALDS after winning Game 3 of the Wild Card Series against the Cleveland Guardians.
