If you want free cake, Portillo’s has got you covered. They are celebrating the Cubs playoff run with slices of their legendary Chocolate Cake.

I know what you’re thinking, “Cake? What does that have to do with baseball?” If that was your reaction, that’s because you’ve never had Portillo’s Chocolate Cake. It’s one of the best, if not the best, desserts you’ll find at restaurants like Portillo’s. Now the fine folks at Portillo’s are giving us a chance to celebrate the Cubs’ playoff push with some cake freebies, but there are a few things you need to know before immediately holding your hand out for a free slice of the stuff.

What Portillo’s Is Calling It

First, Portillo’s is dubbing this Chocolate Cake a “Rally Cake,” which is perfectly named. Second, make sure you are a Portillo’s Perks member, as it’s their free rewards program. Lastly, bring at least a dollar to Portillo’s with you to receive the free slice of cake. So either buy one of their iconic hot dogs, some fries, or a Diet Coke, and you’ll be all set.

The Timeframe

The Rally Cake is now available and will go through October 8. If you join the rewards program at Portillo’s, the offer is valid for seven days after you officially sign up.
