Milwaukee Brewers players look ahead to 2025 MLB playoffs
Milwaukee Brewers stars Christian Yelich, Jackson Chourio and Freddy Peralta look ahead to the 2025 NLDS playoffs with Game 1 of their series against the Chicago Cubs set for Oct. 4.
Will the Milwaukee Brewers be built for fall in 2025? Or will their magical season fall short in the playoffs?
We’re about to find out.
The Milwaukee Brewers, holders of the No. 1 seed in the MLB playoffs, will look to turn their regular season success once and for all into postseason success. Up first for the Brewers is a showdown against former manager Craig Counsell and their National League Central rivals, the Chicago Cubs, in the NL Division Series.
The two teams have met 456 times in their history, but this will be the first time they’ll meet in the playoffs. The Brewers have had the week off thanks to earning one of the two byes in the NL. Meanwhile, the Cubs won a tense three-game wild-card series with the San Diego Padres earlier this week to set up the must-see matchup.
And it’s a matchup that features two teams hungry for a deep playoff run with a trip to the National League Championship Series first on the line. The Brewers were last in the NLCS in 2018, while the Cubs last advanced that far in 2017.
The drama begins with Game 1 of the best-of-five division series at 1:08 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, at American Family Field.

Brewers vs Cubs predictions, picks for NLDS
Todd Rosiak: These teams have just been too evenly matched and managers Pat Murphy and Craig Counsell are too familiar with each others’ tendencies to see the Brewers running away from the Cubs. Milwaukee will win, but it’s going to be a dogfight. Brewers in 5
Curt Hogg: Ask around the league and you likely will get the majority of experts taking the Cubs. And, again, that’s more than defensible. But maybe, just maybe, the Brewers, after five straight playoff appearances without a series win, are finally due for some lucky bounces to go their way. Nothing in this series, save for a Cubs sweep, would surprise me. Brewers in 5
JR Radcliffe: I am putting my faith in the idea that five days of rest is exactly what the doctor ordered for this Brewers team, which looked like it had slipped into an offensive malaise in the latter half of September. Brewers in 4
