Texas Rangers investigating officer involved shooting outside Gladewater restaurant

GLADEWATER, Texas (KLTV) – The Texas Rangers are investigating a shooting involving law enforcement in the parking lot of a Gladewater restaurant.

Around 10:30 p.m. Monday night, a narcotics investigation ended with one person shot at the Sonic on East Broadway Avenue.

Gladewater Police, Gregg County Sheriff’s Office, the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the Drug Enforcement Administration were at the scene.

The initial response was part of a planned operation, according to Gladewater Police.

Details on the identity and condition of the person shot were not released.

Law enforcement spent several hours processing the scene, including a red pickup with visible bullet holes in the driver’s side.

Additional details are expected to be released by the Gregg County Sheriff’s Office later Tuesday morning.
