COLLEGE STATION — Texas A&M baseball landed a commitment Monday afternoon from 2027 outfield prospect Lash Henderson.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound Frisco native is the No. 1 prospect in Texas and is the 21st-ranked prospect in the class, according to Baseball America.
Henderson had an impressive sophomore season with Prestonwood Christian, slashing .333/.403/583, recording 20 hits, 13 RBIs and two home runs.
The junior earned TAPPS 6A Defensive Player of the Year awards, along with first-team All-District and All-State honors.
Henderson is a big-bodied slugger who has the frame to add more size and strength and is viewed as a prospect who could forgo college eligibility to start his professional career.
The Aggies hope Henderson will come to College Station and join a 2027 recruiting class that already has nine commitments, six of which are from the Lone Star State.
Henderson joins another top 50 prospect, pitcher Colton Floyd from New Mexico, as one of the top recruits to commit to A&M in the class.
Next for A&M baseball is the second and final fall scrimmage as the Aggies host TCU at 6 p.m. Friday at Blue Bell Park.
