MINGO COUNTY, W.Va. (WCHS) — A man is accused of beating a woman unresponsive with a baseball bat last week in Mingo County, court records said.
BL Farley, 76, is charged with domestic battery, malicious assault and child neglect creating risk of injury following an incident in Williamson, according to a criminal complaint filed in Mingo County Magistrate Court.
Williamson police said they were called to a home on Oct. 2 by a child who said their mother was getting beaten with a baseball bat. When officers arrived, they said they found Farley covered in blood and with a baseball bat in his possession.
Inside the home, officers said the woman was found unresponsive with serious visible injuries, according to the complaint. Witnesses told investigators Farley entered the home and allegedly threatened to kill the woman before hitting her with the bat.
Police said Farley and the woman had been in a previous relationship. Farley also had two prior domestic convictions dating back to 1995.
He is currently being held in Southwestern Regional Jail. No information was available on the woman’s current condition.
