The Detroit Tigers celebrate a 6-3 win over the Cleveland Guardians in Game 3 of the AL wild card, advancing to the ALDS in the 2025 MLB postseason.

Editor’s note: Game 3 of the Tigers-Mariners ALDS has been delayed due to inclement weather. Follow our live updates from Comerica Park for new information on the weather and start time.

Good news, Detroit Tigers fans.

It has been raining at Comerica Park, but Major League Baseball will not postpone Game 3 of the ALDS between the Tigers and Seattle Mariners on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at Comerica Park, according to Tigers manager A.J. Hinch. He provided the weather report just three hours before first pitch of Game 3.

The game was scheduled to begin at 4:08 p.m. but has been delayed.

“We’re going to play,” Hinch said.

“Right now, the report is that we’re going to be just fine,” Hinch said. “There could be a little bit of rain, but things are looking more promising than they were even 24 hours ago.”

Hinch knows the Tigers will play Tuesday’s game against the Mariners.

He just doesn’t know when the game will start.

“We don’t know exactly when we’re going to start,” Hinch said. “Right now, it’s on time. I think I’m going to get an update as we get closer to game time.”

Neither team took on-field batting practice.

All pregame preparation took place indoors, including hitting in the batting cages.

“As of right now, there’s nothing on the field pregame, but this is a very common occurrence during the season,” Mariners manager Dan Wilson said. “Our guys know what to do. Shouldn’t change many routines much. Everybody will be ready to go at game time.”

The Tigers and Mariners split the first two games in the best-of-five ALDS, with the winner advancing to the ALCS. The first two games took place at T-Mobile Park: The Tigers stole a 3-2 win in Game 1, then the Mariners secured a 3-2 win in Game 2.

The weather won’t stop Game 3 at Comerica Park.

“All systems go, from what I understand,” Hinch said.
