The Texas Rangers are already starting to reshape their roster ahead of the 2025-26 season.
With newly announced manager Skip Schumaker having most recently managed the Miami Marlins, he’ll have a former Marlin in the clubhouse. On Tuesday afternoon, USA Today’s Bob Nightengale reported that the Rangers agreed to a two-year minor league deal with right-handed reliever Declan Cronin.
The Texas Rangers sign right-handed reliever Declan Cronin to a 2-year minor league contract. He will miss next year after undergoing Tommy John surgery.

Cronin, 28, pitched for the Miami Marlins in 2024 and the Chicago White Sox in 2023. In his 65 MLB games played, he has a 4.98 ERA and three wins.
The Rangers traded for relievers Danny Coulombe and Phil Maton ahead of this year’s trade deadline, but both will be unrestricted free agents heading into the 2026 season.
