October baseball chaos is here, and Wednesday promises to be one of the biggest days of the 2025 MLB postseason.
With all four League Division Series in action, and three teams on the brink of elimination, drama is set to unfold from afternoon until late night across the country.
Here’s what’s on deck:
ALDS Game 4: Tigers vs. Mariners — 2:08 p.m. | FS1NLDS Game 3: Cubs vs. Brewers — 4:08 p.m. | TBSALDS Game 4: Yankees vs. Blue Jays — 6:08 p.m. | FS1NLDS Game 3: Dodgers vs. Phillies — 8:08 p.m. | TBSYankees Fight to Keep Season Alive
The Yankees avoided elimination Tuesday with a dramatic 9-6 comeback win over the Blue Jays. Down 6-1 early, Aaron Judge delivered one of the defining moments of his postseason career, a 100 mph, game-tying, three-run blast that rattled Toronto’s bullpen and revived New York’s hopes.
Judge’s homer, the hardest inside pitch he’s ever taken deep, helped spark eight unanswered runs as the Yankees extended the series to Game 4. New York has never been swept in an ALDS and remains unbeaten (4-0) in Game 3s when trailing 2-0. Now, they’ll look to even the series and force a decisive Game 5 back in Toronto.
Mariners Close in on ALCS
In Seattle, Logan Gilbert and the Mariners continued their October surge, overpowering the Tigers 8-4 on Tuesday to take a 2-1 series lead. Gilbert tossed six dominant innings, allowing just one run while striking out seven.
Seattle’s offense traveled well; Eugenio Suárez, J.P. Crawford, and Cal Raleigh all homered as the Mariners positioned themselves to clinch their first ALCS berth since 2001. A win on Wednesday would seal it at T-Mobile Park.
Dodgers, Brewers Aiming for NLDS Sweep
Both the Dodgers and Brewers enter Wednesday just one win away from advancing to the National League Championship Series.
Blake Snell’s masterful performance on Monday, six shutout innings with nine strikeouts, has Los Angeles up 2-0 over the Phillies. Despite late rallies, Philadelphia’s stars (Bryce Harper, Trea Turner, Kyle Schwarber) have combined for just two hits in 21 at-bats this series.
In Chicago, the Brewers have completely overpowered the Cubs. Their 7-3 win in Game 2 featured two three-run home runs from Andrew Vaughn and Jackson Chourio, as Milwaukee’s lineup and bullpen continue to look dominant. The Cubs, meanwhile, have failed to score more than three runs in any playoff game this postseason and now face elimination at Wrigley Field.
What’s at Stake?
By night’s end, the playoff field could shrink dramatically. The Dodgers and Brewers can punch their tickets to the NLCS, while the Yankees and Tigers fight to keep their seasons alive.
Wednesday’s slate could define the 2025 postseason.
It’s a full day of win-or-go-home baseball, the kind October was made for.
