The next batch of college recruits has started for the Watertown Arrows Post 17 high school and American Legion baseball program.

Watertown High School senior and pitcher Jackson McClemans announced on social media (Thursday, Oct. 8, 2025) that he has committed to play baseball at Southwest Minnesota State University in Marshall.

McClemans was a key member of the rotation for a Watertown team that went 11-12 during the 2025 high school baseball season and then compiled a 27-15 record while qualifying as the host team for the state Class A American Legion Baseball tournament.

McClemans started 11 games and pieced together a 2.25 earned-run average in 59 innings over the spring and summer. He allowed 61 hits and walked 20 batters along with 52 strikeouts.

Seven seniors on the Watertown Post 17 squad signed to play college baseball over the past year and McClemans is the first returning player on the team to announce his plans to continue playing the sport at the next level.

McClemans is the son of Watertown High School boys basketball coach Pat McClemans and his wife Patty. Jackson also plays basketball for the Arrows.
