Anyone who has watched a sporting event in the past 13 years has probably noticed a random fan wearing a bright orange Marlins jersey and visor in some of the best, most prominent seats.

That guy, a Florida-based attorney named Laurence Leavy, has been dubbed “Marlins Man” as he’ll travel to the biggest games in the world just to rep that orange Marlins jersey. So, it would have made sense for Leavy to be in attendance for Thursday’s National League Division Series Game 4 between the Phillies and Dodgers. After all, he was at Yankee Stadium the other day.

Instead, we had an imposter on the scene at Dodger Stadium.

That’s right. Someone else showed up to the game in an orange Marlins jersey and visor to sit behind home plate, and it was not the *actual* Marlins Man.

I’m not sure what would motivate someone to dress as Marlins Man besides a desire for attention. But that approach clearly worked for this fan because, well, I’m blogging about him and plenty of fans have noticed the knockoff Marlins Man.

We’ll have to wait and see what the real Marlins Man thinks about the imposter. But hey, imitation is a form of flattery, I guess.
