The Texas Rangers are introducing Skip Schumaker as the organization’s new manager on Friday morning in Arlington.
Schumaker, 45, replaces Bruce Bochy, with whom the Rangers mutually parted ways last month after three seasons, which included winning the 2023 World Series title.
Schumaker won NL Manager of the Year in 2023 with Miami in his rookie managerial season, leading a young Marlins team to the playoffs for only the fourth time in the franchise’s history.
After a front office change above him in 2024, Schumaker left the club just before the end of the season. He joined the Rangers in a senior advisory role a couple of months later.

The Rangers were able to cobble together a solid bullpen for cheap, but their lack of a true closer was problematic.
Banana Ball is coming to 75 stadiums in 2026, including Kyle Field, which has a capacity of over 100,000.
Eovaldi, 35, performed at a career-best level this season before he was shut down because of a rotator cuff strain.
