Jessica Skubal is the wife of Detroit Tigers ace left-handed starting pitcher Tarik Skubal. 

 

Tarik and Jessica are not only one of the MLB’s most beloved power couples, but they’re a force for good in the Detroit community as well. 

Here is everything you need to know about Tarik Skubal’s wife, Jessica Skubal. 

1. Tarik and Jessica Met in High School 

Tarik and Jessica Skubal started dating when they were attending high school together at Kingman Academy in Kingman, Arizona. 

They had mutual friends and several classes together, which contributed to their bond. 

Tarik played both baseball and basketball at Kingman, and Jessica has been supporting his athletic career since way back then! 

2. Jessica Is An Arizona State University Alum 

Tarik Skubal had only one Division I scholarship offer to play college baseball: at Seattle University. 

But Jessica’s plan was to stay close to home for college. She went to Yavapai college, a community college in Prescott, Arizona, and then went to Arizona State University afterwards. 

Jessica graduated from Arizona State in 2018 with a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, then got her Master’s degree in Taxation at ASU in 2019. 

Jessica and Tarik may have been apart, but they were still very committed to one another. The couple spent all four years of college in a long distance relationship. 

Jessica even worked as an accounting clerk while in college so she would have the money to go visit Tarik while he was in Seattle. 

3. Tarik And Jessica Got Married In November 2021 

After several years of dating in high school, college, and even their professional lives, Jessica and Tarik got married on November 23, 2021. 

They tied the knot at Venue at the Grove in Phoenix, Arizona. Several friends of Jessica and Tarik’s who saw their relationship at the very beginning were in attendance and participated in the ceremony. 

They will be celebrating their fourth wedding anniversary this November…and they hope to be celebrating a Tigers World Series title, too!

4. Tarik and Jessica Have Two Kids Together 

Tarik and Jessica have two sons. 

Their older son, Kasen, was born on October 18, 2023 – he will be turning 2 years old soon!

Their younger son, Klay, was born just a couple of months ago, in August of 2025. 

Tarik loves to play catch with Kasen on the field before games, and even wrote both of his son’s names and birthdays on a pair of Scooby Doo themed custom cleats he wore on August 14, 2025. 

5. Jessica Has A Very Successful Finance Career 

So Jessica absolutely kills it at being a mom and supporting her MLB husband, but she also has a very impressive career resume of her own. 

Jessica worked at top finance firm Deloitte until at least July 2021, according to her LinkedIn. 

Jessica knows how to handle finances — and perhaps that’s how she was able to gift Tarik a black SUV in November 2024 to celebrate him winning the Cy Young, and his birthday!

Tarik and Jessica Skubal make a great team.
