John Spikerman was the first of eight Oklahoma players to be selected in the 2024 MLB Draft this week.

The Sooners were third among all college programs behind future conference foes Mississippi State (11) and LSU (nine). Spikerman was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies in the third round as the 100th overall pick.
