Washington Nationals outfielder Dylan Crews is a young talent on the rise. The former LSU standout and Golden Spikes Award winner was the second overall pick in the 2023 draft and made his major-league debut the following August. Described by scouts as a five-tool player, Crews possesses a powerful right-handed bat and disruptive speed on the basepaths.
Crews is unafraid to show his personality, as evidenced by his collection of colorful cleats, including a pair that pay homage to SpongeBob SquarePants. Over the past few years, Crews has begun assembling a card collection as well.

On a recent visit to Citi Field, Crews told Beckett he was inspired to start collecting cards when he arrived in the big leagues in 2024. Said Crews, “I started collecting right when I got here. A lot of guys were doing it, so I started collecting – collecting my own cards, guys that I play with…I even like to collect pop culture stuff: Mickey Mouse, all that type of stuff.”
Crews says that the crown jewel of his collection is a Pristine 10 Black Label Disney one-of-one card featuring an image from “Steamboat Willie,” the 1928 animated short starring Mickey Mouse.
He also owns some of his own cards, including a few out-of-fives produced by Bowman. Although he mainly sticks to baseball, Crews occasionally collects cards of football players from his alma mater LSU.
For Crews, and teammates like Brady House, signing and trading cards is as much about enjoyment as collecting. Crews says that cases and boxes of cards often arrive at the Nationals clubhouse, where players gather to open them and see what’s inside.
Like many passionate collectors, Crews is always on the lookout for the next addition. He would like to acquire a Shohei Ohtani rookie card, as well as Tom Brady and Michael Jordan rookie cards. He’s also eager to pick up an upcoming card featuring his debut patch, a keepsake that would mark another step in the early chapters of his promising career.
