Royals shortstop Bobby Witt Jr., third baseman Maikel Garcia and center fielder Kyle Isbel are all in the running for the award, representing the American League. Gold Gloves recognize the best defenders at each position in each league. Managers and coaches account for 75% of the selection process; the other 25% comes from sabermetrics. Witt won the award in 2024. Garcia and Isbel are first-time finalists. Witt shares the category with Rangers shortstop Corey Seager and Rays shortstop Taylor Walls. Garcia is up for the third baseman award against the Blue Jays’ Ernie Clement and the Guardians’ Jose Ramirez. Along with Isbel, Red Sox center fielder Ceddanne Rafaela and Mariners center fielder Julio Rodriguez are up for the Gold Glove. Winners will be announced on ESPN on Nov. 2.
