OSAGE CITY, Kan. (WIBW) – For the 11th straight year, Blake Treinen is proving why he’s one of Major League Baseball’s most trusted bullpen arms.
The Osage City native is back in the postseason this fall with the Los Angeles Dodgers, contributing key innings as the team pushes for another deep October run.
Over the past two weeks, Treinen has taken the mound in five playoff games, throwing 2.2 innings and recording three strikeouts. The Dodgers have come out on top in four of those five contests, with Treinen’s steady presence helping to lock down late leads.
Back home in Kansas, Osage City is keeping close tabs on its hometown star.
“Osage City is very proud of him and he’s done a nice job of reaching back out to us at different times,” Osage City Activities Director Andrew Gantenbein said. “Certainly a great role model, very faithful man, and so, we’re very proud of Blake and all that he’s doing and wish him the best as he moves forward in the playoffs.”
The Dodgers lead the Brewers 2-0 in the NLCS. Game 3 is set for Thursday at 5:08 CT on TBS.
